Roll-Off Dumpster Rental in Florida
Florida has no winter shutdown, so what moves the price here is rarely the season. It is where the nearest receiving facility sits.
This page covers what is specific to Florida. For container sizing, accepted and prohibited materials and how the rental works, see Roll-Off Dumpster Rental.
A twelve-month construction season
Most of the country loses weeks to winter. Florida does not, so demand for containers is steady rather than seasonal and a container booked in January is no harder to get than one booked in July.
What does move is regional demand after a storm, and the seasonal calendar in the parts of the state that fill up between November and April. Neither is weather closing a site down. Both are worth booking around, which is why a day or two of notice is worth more here than it looks.
The corridor, the coast, and everything else
The I-4 corridor between Tampa and Daytona and the southeast coast from Palm Beach down to Miami-Dade have the densest transfer station and landfill networks in the state. Short hauls, competitive tonnage rates, and same-day delivery that is genuinely achievable most mornings.
The Panhandle, the Big Bend and the Keys run different economics. Fewer receiving facilities and much longer hauls mean the distance to the scale moves your price more than the container size does. A 30 yard in Hillsborough County and the same box in Monroe or Liberty County are different jobs for the truck, and we quote them that way rather than publishing one statewide rate we would then have to walk back.
Sand, water table and where the container can actually sit
Soft sand will not carry a loaded roll-off. On a Florida site that usually means a driveway, a compacted pad or plating rather than bare ground, and it is the single most common reason a delivery has to be repositioned. Tell us what the drop zone is made of when you book.
The high water table has a second effect people underestimate. Excavation spoil here comes out wet, and wet material weighs far more than the same volume dry. On anything involving soil, trench waste or a broken slab, order smaller than the volume suggests and plan a swap.
Sizes we quote in Florida
Same containers statewide. The tonnage allowance behind them is set by the county facility that receives your load.
| Size | L × W × H | Included tons | Pickup loads | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 yard | 12′ × 8′ × 3.5′ | 2 - 3 | 3 - 4 | Heavy inert loads: concrete, brick, dirt. Small bath or kitchen gut. |
| 20 yard | 22′ × 8′ × 4.5′ | 3 - 4 | 6 - 8 | Roof tear-offs up to about 30 squares. Mid-size remodels. Garage cleanouts. |
| 30 yard | 22′ × 8′ × 6′ | 4 - 5 | 9 - 12 | Whole-home renovations, framing waste, mixed demolition debris. |
| 40 yard | 22′ × 8′ × 8′ | 5 - 6 | 14 - 16 | Commercial tear-outs, large demolition, bulky light debris. |
Florida questions
Do you deliver same-day in Florida?
Often on calls before about 10am, and most reliably along the I-4 corridor and the southeast coast. The Panhandle, the Big Bend and the Keys usually need a day because of haul distance.
Why does the price change between Florida cities?
Tipping fees are set by the receiving facility and vary by county, and haul distance varies enormously between the metros and the rural counties. We quote against the facility that will actually take your load.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Florida?
Not on private property. Street or right-of-way placement needs a permit from the city, and requirements differ between municipalities. We tell you which applies before delivery.
